Mandarin Oriental, Santiago is proud to have been recognised by HuellaChile, the official initiative of the Government of Chile for managing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at the organizational level. This program is based on three key components: an online calculation tool integrated into the RETC single-window system, technical support for users via email and workshops, and recognition based on the level of GHG emissions management achieved.

Responsibility for Our Planet

We’ve taken significant steps to reduce single-use plastics, including replacing plastic key cards with wooden alternatives and using sustainably sourced products throughout the hotel. To promote clean mobility, we offer bikes and provide three EV charging stations. We’ve also implemented LED lighting and water flow restrictors to enhance energy and water efficiency. Each November, we celebrate our Carbon Neutral Month to highlight our ongoing commitment to sustainability.

Responsibility for Our Guests

At Mandarin Oriental, Santiago, we are committed to the well-being of our guests and to sustainable practices. Our restaurants highlight menus crafted with locally sourced ingredients, including honey from our own beehives and produce from our sustainable garden—the first of its kind in the hotel industry in Chile. We also offer complimentary wellness experiences, such as our Full Moon Yoga Sessions and the M.O. Running Club, designed to foster mindfulness and enhance overall wellbeing throughout your stay.

Responsibility for Our Community

Mandarin Oriental encourages all colleagues to volunteer one paid day of their time to a charity of their choice. For 2025, we have budgeted a total of 5,328 volunteer hours to support social impact initiatives. Some of the initiatives currently underway include supporting under-resourced schools through co-education programs, as well as contributing to national campaigns that assist children with cancer.
